Year Two – Term Two Newsletter
Welcome back, I hope you all had a fun filled half term!
This term is art term so we will be exploring many different art skills and will be linking these largely to the book “The Day the Crayons Quit” along with other areas throughout the curriculum:
English – we will be looking at letters, writing our own persuasive letters and writing an alternative version of the story. Our reading objectives are to build vocabulary and understanding of words, develop a source of their favourite phrases and words and answering and asking questions about a text.
Maths – during term two we will be covering objectives in addition and subtraction, money and multiplication and division.
Topic – within D&T, Art and History we will be learning lots of new art skills including printing, pattern work, sewing, designing and creating our own stationary holders as well as learning about the artist Kaffe Fassett. In Science we will continue our exploration of materials with some fun investigations.
With so many interesting aspects to cover, it will be a fun-filled and engaging term!
P.E. – Monday and Wednesday are the Year 2 timetabled P.E. days this term but for the first 2 weeks we will have cricket on a Thursday. Please ensure that your child has the required kit.
