Leeds Castle Visit
After a wobbly start to our day with the bus not turning up Britannia coaches came to the rescue. The children had a fantastic day visiting Leeds Castle. The highlights of the day included watching the birds of prey display, running around the maze and playing in the castle play park.
Walmer Castle Visit
This term we are learning about Castles. We visited Walmer Castle and gardens and had a wonderful day. The children explored the house first and then wondered around the kitchen gardens. We enjoyed the Queen Mother's Pond where we saw dragon flies and hundreds of frogs. There was a fun new park in the woodlands which we enjoyed playing in.
Class 1 had great fun at the pond. They enjoyed exploring the pond's wildlife and using the identification charts to work out what they had found.
Alice in Woderland
We have had great fun using the story Alice in Wonderland to inspire some creative writing. We then had a week of activities building up to our Mad Hatters Tea Party, which was a lot of fun.
In science we have been learning about plants. We made our own grass heads. We have looked after them and watched them grow, we even gave them a hair cut!
We visited the pond and were lucky enough to release some frogspawn into the pond.
Class 1 enjoyed some fantastic learning based on 'Where the Wild Things Are'. Following some great writing opportunities the class finished with a 'Wild Rumpus' in the woods. They enjoyed decorating the trees, dancing, making smores and even climbing the trees.
Class 1 had a fantastic trip to Howletts to compliment their learning about animals.
