Dear Parents/Carers.
 
Firstly I would like to welcome you back to the school new year and hope you had a lovely summer holiday. This year we are aiming to provide a fun and exiting curriculum which the children will gain a great deal of enjoyment and progress.
 
This term our topic is going to be sustainable living and so far the children have shown great enthusiasm within this topic. They will be looking into many issues including recycling, fair trade and renewable energy.  As far as possible all of our literacy and other subject will be linked to this topic to ensure the children are given a range of experiences in which to develop their skills and understanding. In literacy we will begin by looking at Non-fiction-recounts which will include newspapers and letters before moving onto looking at stories which raise issues and explanation text.  
 
In science we will be focusing on electricity and learning about our environment which will give a super link to our topic and will help the children’s understanding even further. To my exiting all of the topic work and science work will lead to the children designing and making a sustainable house as an end of topic Design and Technology project.
 
In RE this term the children will be exploring Beginning, Friends and Preparation.
