🎉 Term 3 Learning Adventures! 🎉
Welcome to Term 3! We have an exciting term of learning planned, full of exploration, creativity, and discovery. Here’s a sneak peek into what your child will be learning across all their subjects this term.
📚 English & Guided Reading
This term, we’ll kick start our learning with a SPAG focus using lots of interactive games and group work to unpick the mechanics of the English language. Next, we will dive into the thrilling story of Varjak Paw—the tale of a brave cat who learns to fight and discovers his inner strength. Through our Talk for Writing approach, we’ll explore Varjak’s adventures and emotions, culminating in writing diary entries from his perspective. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the children to enhance their creative writing and empathy skills!
🗺️ Geography: All Around the World
We’re swapping our History hats for Geography this term, with the topic All Around the World!
The children will explore:
- Different countries and cultures
- World maps and how to use them
- Exciting geographical features
We’re looking forward to broadening our global knowledge and learning about the diversity of our planet.
🔬 Science: Sounds Amazing!
Our Science focus is sound—and it’s going to be both hands-on and ears-on!
Activities include:
- Fun sound experiments
- Going on sound walks to observe how sounds travel
- Making cup telephones and even crafting our own musical instruments
It’s going to be a noisy and fantastic learning experience!
✝️ RE: Community and Belonging
In RE, we’ll be learning about community and the ways people support each other. To bring this topic to life, we’ll visit Father Matthew, who will share insights about his role in our local community. This is a wonderful chance for the children to see community values in action and ask their own questions.
➗ Maths: Multiplication, Length, and Perimeter
This term in Maths, we’re tackling:
- Multiplication: Building fluency in times tables and applying them to solve problems.
- Length and Perimeter: Measuring, calculating, and understanding the dimensions of shapes.
We’ll be using plenty of practical activities to ensure the children feel confident and enjoy their learning.
We’re Ready for a Great Term!
As you can see, Term 3 is packed with exciting opportunities for learning and growth. We can’t wait to see the children embrace each subject with curiosity and enthusiasm.
As always, thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions or would like to know more about our topics, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
