Singapore Bar Method
In maths we have been practicing using the Singapore bar method to support our use of the four main operations.
Singapore bar method is a pictorial representation of a problem or concept where bars or boxes are used to represent the known and unknown quantities.
We used counter and bar model drawings to help us solve Easter problems.

This week we have been combining our Maths and Art knowledge. In art we have looked at the work of Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky and his obsession with classical music and geometric shapes. We compared this to our recent maths work on shape and angles and even measured some of the angles in his most famous art work (as seen below).
We then combined our research and our new angle drawing skills to create our own Kandinsky style drawings!
