Section 48 Inspection
We are very pleased and proud to announce that St Mary’s Catholic School has been judged as ‘Outstanding’ in our Section 48 Inspection. This is a wonderful recognition of the hard work of all the staff. The report states ‘that St Mary’s is an outstanding example of a school totally committed to its Catholic ethos and identity.’ It recognises the importance of family and pastoral care throughout the school. The Inspectors identified that the good and outstanding teaching across the school contributes to the excellent progress the children make.
I would like to thank you all for your support through the Parent questionnaires. We are all extremely happy with this outcome.

As a Catholic School, Religious Education is provided within the timetable according to the syllabus in ‘the Way, the Truth and the Life’. Our Catholic ethos pervades all that takes place within our school family. On certain occasions during the year, Mass is celebrated in school whilst on other occasions we will visit our parish churches; St John the Evangelist, Mongeham & Sandwich or St Thomas of Canterbury, Deal. Both Parish Priests are regular visitors in school and lead assemblies and other services. These are considered an integral part of school life and important in the spiritual development of the children.
