Reception Term 1
Week ending Friday 18th October
We did it! We have finished our first term. The children have settled so well and it feels like they have been here for far longer than a term. Well done Reception class!
It has been all about the numbers this week with lots of amazing number knowledge being demonstrated in their play.
We have made our very own abacus in maths this week and we have learned about the Jewish Menorah as part of Judaism week in the school.

Week ending Friday 11th October
Oi Dog! What do frogs sit on? Sun loungers of course. Frog may not follow the rules but Class R do, frogs sit on logs, cats sit on mats and dogs sit on frogs! We have had great fun thinking of rhymes with our names this week. Freddies sit on teddies and Alices sit on palaces.

Week ending Friday 4th October
Our new topic, Is there a Shark in the Park?, has started really well. Our focus for the topic is rhyming and the children have been rhyming all over the place! They are getting very good at it.
As it was shark week we thought about how sharks would look after their big teeth. The children brought their toothbrushes in to show the sharks how they should brush them.
The children were also building bridges so that the sharks wouldn't eat them!

Week ending Friday 27th September
This term is flying by so quickly!
We have finished off our 'Who am I?' topic with some really lovely Chatterboxes shared in class. Thank you so much for your help in making these with the children. We have learned lots about each other and it was lovely to see the confidence when children were talking about what they know best, themselves!
We will be starting a new topic next week - Is there a Shark in the Park?

Week ending Friday 20th September
We have been thinking about how God created us all different and all special. We have compared ourselves to our friends and seen our differences and similarities. We have enjoyed staying all day, we can fit so much more fun in now! Mrs Goodwin has enjoyed the good morning routine, nothing like a hug/fist bump/high five to start the day right.

Week ending Friday 13th September
We have had a great second week. The children have learned all the routines and are making lots of new friends. They are ready for full days next week (even if the adults are not! :@) The children are being very helpful too!

Week ending Friday 6th September
Wow! What an amazing first week we have had at school. Mrs Goodwin & Mrs Conyers are feeling very proud of how well the children have settled. We can already tell how much fun we are going to have this year.
Our first topic is 'Who am I?' and we have been very busy learning lots of new names. We have built our names with beads & magnet letters, we have stamped our names in the play-dough and we've even given writing them a go!
We have been doing lots and lots of singing to learn our new routines, our prayers and showing off our number skills.
We all deserve a restful weekend to recharge, ready to do it all over again next week.
