Reception Term 3
Week ending Friday 14th February
We travelled around the world with the Snail & the Whale this week.
We have been writing thank-you letters to the whale and writing in our own slimy trails, just like Snail.
We have been learning about capacity in Maths and getting a bit soggy exploring different containers.
We have been kind and looking after each other as there are a lot of snuffles and coughs this week.

Week ending Friday 7th February
It was an exciting week as we joined the Everywhere Bear's adventure to the library. We found lots of lovely stories to share and we made sure we were super quiet!
We visited Poundland to spend our money and learn about how money is used. We were complimented on how well behaved the children were as they were very polite in the shop.

Week ending Friday 31st January
It's been all about reading this week! We have been writing our own books and the Year 6 came to read with us again. We have enjoyed Helicopter Storytelling too. In Maths we have been measuring. Olivia is the tallest in class and we thought Dexter was the shortest but when we measured ourselves on the height chart it was actually Isaac! We found out that the taller you are the longer your wingspan. The only person in school who is taller than Mrs Goodwin is............ Mr Bennett.
We also visited the church this week, Father Christopher gave us a tour of St John's and the children behaved very respectfully and were a credit to you all.

Week ending Friday 24th January
Hip, Hip Hooray for Superworm!
The children have been writing some fantastic work to go on a Superworm display. They have been solving problems in Maths and we have had such a variety of interesting learning during Child Initiated Time (CIT).

Week ending Friday 17th January
We have enjoyed hearing The Highway Rat in English this week. We have been making wanted posters and trying to pack a healthy lunch for the baddie!
Instead of role playing as Highway Rat's though the class has turned into a hairdressers. We have had some very beautiful hair with very happy clients, even selfies in the waiting room!
There were some very, very muddy children too, head to the Wednesday Wood blog to see our very own 'bog monsters'.

Week ending Friday 10th January
We have had a fantastic first week back! The children have returned to school raring to go. Our new topic is 'Will you read me a story?', we are thinking about our favourite stories and celebrating one of our favourite authors Julia Donaldson.
This week our story was Room on the Broom and we have had some very wicked witches and scary dragons in our class.
