Year 4 Class Blog: An Exciting Term Ahead! πŸš€

Welcome to our Term 4 blog! We are looking forward to a fantastic term ahead, filled with engaging learning opportunities, creativity, and teamwork. We’re excited to share a glimpse of what’s coming up so you can support your child’s learning at home! ✨

English πŸ“š

This term, we will be exploring exciting new topics. In English, we’ll be diving into fantasy writing, inspired by Aaron Becker’s Journey. The children will use their imagination to create their own adventure stories while developing their descriptive writing skills.

Mathsβž—βž•

In Maths, we’ll be focusing on fractions, using fun games and real-life problem-solving to help build confidence and understanding. βž—βž•

Guided Reading πŸ“–

Our class book this term is The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, a heartwarming story about a porcelain rabbit’s adventure. We’ll be discussing key themes such as kindness, resilience, and friendship. Why not ask your child about their favorite part of the story? πŸ‡πŸ’™

Science Explorers πŸ”¬βš‘

In Science, we will be learning all about electricity! Through hands-on experiments, the children will explore how circuits work and understand the importance of electricity in our daily lives. Encourage your child to share what they’ve learned with you—they love explaining their discoveries! πŸ’‘

Geography πŸŒ

This term, we will be comparing our local region with the Aegean region in Greece. We’ll look at differences in climate, landscapes, and culture. You can support your child’s learning by discussing any experiences of travel or looking at maps together at home. πŸ›οΈ

DT 🎨

In Design and Technology (DT), we will be making slingshot cars, helping children develop their problem-solving and engineering skills. We can’t wait to see their creations! πŸš—βœ¨

Religious Education β›ͺ

In RE, we will be learning about the Eucharist and then moving on to explore the meaning of Lent. This will help the children reflect on values such as gratitude, kindness, and self-improvement. πŸ™ We cant wait for you to see our Easter performance!

Celebrating Achievements 🌟

We love celebrating success in Year 4! Whether it’s an impressive piece of writing, a maths challenge mastered, or showing kindness to a friend, we’ll be acknowledging and encouraging every step of progress. Keep an eye out for our Star Learners of the Week! πŸŽ‰

Thank you for your ongoing support. We truly appreciate your involvement in your child’s learning journey. Stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to ask your child about what they’ve been learning—they love sharing their experiences! πŸ’¬
